BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This is a sworn firefighting position that shall work in coordination with the Deputy Chiefs. This position shall oversee the assigned department divisions, which may include EMS, Training/Health and Safety, Prevention, Operations, and Fleet and Facilities Divisions. This position shall work closely with the deputy and division chiefs to ensure all policies, procedures, and training align with federal, state, and local regulations/laws. This position shall assist with establishing standardization of policies, procedures, programs, software, apparatus, EMS supplies, and equipment. This position shall work closely with the Fire Chief, Deputy and Division Chiefs, Fiscal Manager, Administrative Assistants, Battalion Chiefs, and all career and reserve line staff. This position will assist the operations division with emergency responses as requested by the Deputy Chief or Deputy Chief/ Fire Marshal. This position shall also assist with stations, apparatus, equipment, etc. inspections to ensure ECFR items are properly maintained. The Division Chief is required to be on-call after hours and on weekends and complete all other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief or Designee.
